It's the most wonderful time of the year...

Tue Dec 1, 2009, 10:32 AM
...With the kids jingle belling
And everyone telling you "Be of good cheer"
It's the most wonderful time of the year

Happy 12-1-2009 AD, everybody! The journal area here was a bit dusty. *cough*
Quite a bit has happened since I last journaled. Most importantly, I've got a new cousin. She's three months old as of this writing, and she's adorable, as most babies her age are...especially when she smiles.
I also came into a few thousand dollars of unused college money, which promptly began burning holes in my pocket. This means that whatever's left is going into Christmas gifts for the family.

For you guys, I wanna know what you want from me. Give me a request for a drawing, and I'll get on it! Not only that, but I'll send it to you via traditional mail, if you'd like.

Also, New Super Mario Bros. Wii is officially my new all-time favorite game. It rocks so hard. I've gotten into Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, as of late, too.

And, if you want to do a fun experiment, try drawing a self-portrait in your favorite artist's style. I've finished up a particulary freaky-looking one in the style of Monkey Punch, and it was a lot of fun.

Current requests:
~angelidollinda16: Lupin and Co. celebrating Christmas.
~AlbinoAngstbucket: (*HIDDEN* Unlock this request by defeating 20 enemies in vs mode)
~shadowpeach89: Something involving her and Princess Toadstool

So, how's life been for you?

I hadn't posted a journal in over a month and not much of anything else at all for quite some time, either. Working on Weird in a Can ([link]) interfered a lot with my dA uploading.
Not only that, but I had a hard time finding motivation to do anything. Which especially sucks, since I've actually got a whole bunch of ideas. Work on WiaC has even slowed down to a stop because of it.
Anyone know how to motivate oneself?

As for the games I've been playing, I'm really into the new Punch-Out!!. I've taken down the regular contender and title defense modes. I just unlocked "Mac's Last Stand", which is a sudden-death-esque mode in which Little Mac faces a never ending string of opponents and has to retire after 3 losses. I lost to the top-secret guest star character, due to him not appearing elsewhere in the game.
I also completed The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Very scary game, but a lot of fun with tons of stuff to do. Heck, I'd go as far to say I liked it better than OoT!

I've been seeing a lot of movies lately I didn't like: X-men Origins: Wolverine, Lupin III: Golden Legend of Babylon, Lupin III vs Detective Conan, The Hangover...I need to start watching some good movies soon.

So yeah, that's all I got goin' on right now. What's goin on with you guys?

We had a bad storm here last Sunday, and a tree (that the electric company was supposed to cut down) near my house fell, severing power lines, leaving us without power. So, we're crashing at my aunt's home for now.
To make matters worse: in our haste to get to a safer place during the storm, my aunt's (the one I live with) dog was run over, due to his refusal to move from underneath the van. His pelvis was fractured, and we took him to the vet to be put down.
Then the aunt and uncle (the one we're staying with) left for vacation and we get to watch the house.
However, our lights are back on, and they'll be coming back home today, meaning I'll get to go home myself. Whoo-hoo!

Contrary to what my comments and faves say, I submit more than fanart to dA.
Since 2005, I've been putting up drawings of the characters from my graphic novel-in-progress, Weird in a Can. In 2006, I began putting up pages, as well.
I recently got the idea to start up a site devoted exclusively to it. I'm planning on uploading the entire work onto it, so everyone can enjoy it.
Not only that, but when I do decide to get it published in print form, I'll already have people willing to buy it.

Maybe.

My question, to all my watchers is, "would you read it?" The dialogue and plot are gonna be punched up a bit from what I have right now, and I want to try to fix some of the (especially) crappy artwork.
My goal is to make it as funny as possible, and I (like always) want feedback. So, would you read it if I did it?
