Artist's Comments requested a drawing of Pauline jumping into Mario's arms. I went a little further with it.For those not in the know, Pauline is the Lady that Mario climbed up girders and jumped over barrels to rescue in the original Donkey Kong (1981). Aside from a cameo in Pinball (1985 )and appearing in the Game Boy remake of DK (1994), Pauline didn't appear until 2007's Mario vs Donkey Kong 2. I've always kinda liked Pauline. Unlike most of Mario's female friends, Pauline isn't royalty, and her fashion sense is really old-school, which is really cool (of course, she was based on Fay Wray's character in the 1933 King Kong film, so that may have something to do with it.) EDIT 12/10-2008- Is it just me, or does Pauline in this pic look like Scarlett Johansson? |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
